The Cookie Page
Most cookie policies are long because most websites load a crowd of trackers. This one fits on a single screen, since we leave next to nothing behind on your device. Here is the full picture.
The one thing we store
When you click either button on our cookie banner, the site saves your answer in your browser's local storage. Local storage is a small storage area that websites can use on your own device, similar in spirit to a cookie but never sent along with requests to a server. We use it for exactly one purpose: remembering that you have already answered, so the banner does not greet you on every single page.
| Entry | Stored in | Purpose | Kept until |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your banner answer (accepted or declined) | Local storage in your browser | So the banner stays hidden after you have answered | Until you clear your browser's site data |
The entry contains only your yes-or-no answer. It holds no name, no email address and no identifier, and it is not readable by other websites.
What we do not use
- No analytics cookies or visitor statistics tools.
- No advertising or remarketing cookies.
- No social media tracking pixels or embedded like buttons.
- No third-party fonts, maps or video players that set their own cookies on our pages.
Whether you accept or decline in the banner makes no difference to how the site works, because there is nothing optional to switch on or off. The banner is there to be transparent, not to collect consent for hidden extras.
Removing the entry
If you would like to reset your answer, clear the site data for motherearthcoffeeandgifts.com in your browser settings. The exact steps vary by browser, but you will usually find them under privacy or site settings. Once cleared, the banner will appear again on your next visit. Browsing in a private or incognito window also means nothing is kept after you close it.
Server logs are separate
Our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs when pages are requested. Those logs are not cookies and are not stored in your browser; they are explained on Your Privacy.
If anything changes
Should we ever add a feature that stores something else in your browser, it will be listed on this page before it goes live. Questions are welcome on our Say Hello page, and the general rules for using the site are in our Terms & Conditions.
